My interest in Chichester stems from now living in Chidham, which lies alongside Chichester Harbour. Linked to my interest in Naval Dockyards and Naval Stores was a paper published in 2010 in the journal Sussex Archaeological Collection on my research into the naval base of King Harold of the powerful Godwin family that existed in Chichester Harbour during Saxon times.
